matt and me

Sadly, I don't have a story board to go with these pictures, so I'll just tell a brief story then post the pictures. Matt Nathanson peformed today at the Smyrna Market Village...I know I know...Smyrna? Where's Smyrna and why would I want to go there. Let me answer that one for you. Because Matt Nathanson played a show there. Did I mention it was a free show? (Thank you Dave FM.) Well, Matt was as great as ever. The show was a little more PG rated than his other shows (thanks you stupid parents who can't get a baby-sitter for the afternoon), but it was still fun nonetheless. It was a good time, especially since I had Jennifer and my friend Lindsey there to experienc eMatt for the first time. They thought he was great even at a toned down level.

So, without further ado....here's Matt-

Still love this guy.

More matt....

It took a few days, but clips from the show at the Loft have finally made it on line.
This one's a long one, but Mary Ellen, it's yoiur favorite Chicago story. So enjoy:

Okay, so I just found this one too...and well, if you remember, the "kill the bitch" guy was our football score update buddy. Oh boy...

All Things Matt.

In my typical post concert state, I'm in a full on Matt Nathanson state of mind. I just came across a show he did for NPR over this summer. You can hear it here. Just click "listen" and you're there.

Oh sweet little Matt. What a two face. I still love him.

Of course. Click on this link and see what I came across when I was googling images of Matt. If you don't get it, email me and I'll explain.
Ps. If I did have a myspace page, this would be the song.

more pictures of miss mandy

This really does make it look like I was far away, but trust me I could have thrown my shoe at her...although that would have been weird. So nevermind. I was close. You can just trust me on that one.

i'm a loser

So I totally confess that I just saw Mandy Moore tonight at the Roxy. Yes, I'm a loser. I'm a 30something dork who still goes to shows performed by 23 year olds. Of course I had a great time. The kid is amazing. I love it when singers can actually outperform their own voices on their albums because, let's be honest, that happens very rarely anymore. I really was quite impressed at her voice. In all honesty though, I'm hung up on the fact that she wrote about 3/4ths of the album (Wild Hope) with the Weepies and well, I'm obsessed with The Weepies!

Mep, if you're willing to give the cd a chance, I'll make you a copy. That's what kind of friend I am. (you can thank me later.) :)

ps....this girl is gorgeous.

...i dig my toes into the sand...

the ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket. i lean against the wind, pretend that i am weightless, and in this moment i am happy...happy.

and happy is what i was saturday night. jennifer and i saw incubus. not your typical concert outting as our tickets were left at will call by the band's dj- dj chris kilmore. he also left us some "after show" passes. now i wish i could say that i hung out with brandon...oh brandon...but apparently he's shy and completely anti-social, so he sneaked past us and sat on the bus. but i did get to hang out with kilmore. what an incredibly nice guy. he brought out pictures on his laptop to show us where he'd been and how he's seen the world. (that and oh his cars too. yeah, he owns a shelby - eleanor from gone in 60 seconds, an escalade - must be required, and a "crotch rocket" motorcycle.) the cool parts were the video taped shots from the stage while performing in kuala lampur...or the stage in the plaza de toros in madrid...or bungee jumping off an incredibly high bridge in auckland. not a bad way to spend your days. the nicest part was that this guy was just a down to earth guy. he even hugged us when we left.

all in all, not a bad way to spend a saturday night.
and the new cd isn't too bad either. i highly recommend songs 1, 4, 8 and 13.
my personal favorite line on the whole album is "love is a verb here in my room".

alright ladies.
what's the status on howie? heather?
and mary ellen, how about you just bring your bike here with you and we can ride on sunday?

xoxo.
