Change of Plans

Ok so I get to the airport plenty early, but because of all the bad weather up North there were tons of flights cancelled. Because I had a paper ticket, since I have multiple carriers I'm flying with, I had to wait in line. The lines were enormous with people trying to get refunds and find new flights. So after waiting in line for 2 hours, I finally get to the counter and it's 6:22. I have no bags to check mind you. They tell me they can't issue a boarding pass because I have to be checked in 1 hour before my flight. The flight was at 7. Geez. I told them, give me the pass, I'll make it to the gate I swear. But no go. So at least they did work with me to find something else. Instead of going to Frankfurt for a short layover, I've now been at London Gatwick since 8:30 a.m. this morning (4:30 a.m. Eastern time). It's funny, a few years ago when I went to visit Rob in Spain I had a super long layover here. So it's de'ja vu in a lot of ways. Thank goodness there are a lot of shops and restaurants. But on top of that, guess what, yep, it's St. Patrick's Day, so the whole place is crazy with drunk Irishmen and women and British, and well hell, just about everybody. When I was here those few years ago I remember I bought a pack of socks, with these strange initials near the toes, something like EZN. The irony? I just happen to be wearing a pair of those socks today. So to commemorate another extended stay at Gatwick, I just bought some new socks... along with a new purse and a couple of too cool t-shirts. Might as well right? So I'm flying out of here at 5:30 London time and arrive in Thess. at 10:30 p.m. What a waste of a day. Originally I was supposed to be in Greece at 2:30 p.m. But things could be worse right? It's not all that bad, especially if you have a blog you can bitch to. So my time is almost up, I'm tired but I did sleep on the plane. Maybe I'll go put on my new socks. Maybe I'll get something to eat or drink.. the question is.. orange juice or a Grolsch beer?... Hmmm ;) Take care and I'll try to post later in the week. I still don't know where we're going other than Phillipi, yes that's right, time to pull out the map. I hear some techno in the bar next door, that's my call. Later.

Oh my gosh!!! That is so miserable. It's reasons like that - that I loathe ticket counters at Hartsfield. I guess it could always be worse, right? So you get to spend the day with a bunch of drunk irishmen. actually, sounds kind of fun. and who doesn't love people watching...even if it is an extended version of people watching. at least when you get to greece you'll be able to rest. i hope you have an amazing trip. i'll be thinking about while i'm working on adjusting numbers for sgiws kuje ER and Scrubs. ha ha ha! I just reread that last sentence. that translates to "shows like ER and Scrubs". Phew, it's been a long day, but my yard looks fantastic! I'll post pictures soon. Take care sweets. Love ya!
