theory

I just wanted to give you the list of theories and subtheories I've been writing down that I'll need to talk about tomorrow:

border thinking
colonial difference
double critique
subalternization
other thinking
post-coloniality v. post-colonialism
internal colonialism
countermodernity
countercolonial
gelatorian inflationary response
geohistorical location
creolization
subjugated knowledge
occidentalist metanarative
gnosis knowledge including doxa and episteme

That's all I have for now. But I did find Katie's last posting interesting, it's just like you said it was with Tom huh? Not that I didn't believe you. I'm looking forward to you guys coming, bring anything you want, you know I mostly have condiments to serve. Just kidding, I'm going to take my ass to the ghetto pig (the piggly wiggly grocery store in the housing projects that I like to go to). I'm also nursing a wasp wound, damn thing came right at me. PS- Did any of you catch the term gelatorian inflationary response in my list. It is one I innocently added to see if you're paying attention. It means a extreme increase in you desire to buy gelato. I think we all suffer. Alright- peace out.

the occidentalist metnarrative is something usually "western" and regional. like occident is core/center and orient is periphery/margins. so the occ. metanarrative would be a theory or work based on an eurocentric view of the world about another region that it may or may not have the right perspective/interpretation to really represent the history they are writing (which they probably would not since a western scholar would write much differently about colonizing india than an indian writing about the british colonizing them).

sorry, for that, not trying to sound smart, just trying to show that i try to understand these things as i hang from my toe nails. yeah, it's painful. does it make any sense?

Easy tiger, that was in under 25 words (well I didn't actually count, but I'm sure it's ballpark). I didn't say it was interesting, remember, I hate this class. In the words of the lady that cuts my hair once when I told her what I was reading... "Who cares?" Unfortunately, I'm alone on that one, well me and all the geeks.
