what i learned....

while reading through my new magazine... i learned: "Cockfighting has historical significance. It has been around the U.S. since colonial times and even longer in other parts of the world. Popular president Abraham Lincoln was actually a cockfight referee and apparently was nicknamed "Honest Abe" for his honesty in the pit - not for his politics, as most believe. The gamecock also ran a close second to the bald eagle to be our national bird." - Advance magazine

mep - you might want to use this in your history lessons! :) you can borrow my pictures and the magazine if you like! and yes, i did find the recipe for the tequila marys!

good good, i wanted to share a recipe you could really use. hope you find my other commentary including mariah carey and the addition of the d.r. flag.

that is some good trivia. i did know about it dating back to pre-colonial, but the other info was new. if you think cockfighting is gross read up on gouging (I think that's how it's spelled).

not that the circumstances were our usual, and of course our thoughts are with heather, but i'm glad that i got to see all of you. and i hope heather enjoyed us as well. in difficult times, good friends are an intangible comfort.. not just because they're there, but because you know they always will be. heather knows that we fit that bill.

off to play with miss monster - aka lady on crack. good night.
