i had a FABULOUS time on friday night! ya'll are hilarious! no, i don't refer to yall as my old fart friends! i loved it and had a blast! i think one of my favorite parts though was the guest bed! mary ellen - that thing is super comfortable...i may come visit just to sleep in that bed!
i don't know about yall, but i was so tired when i got home last night that i just laid on the couch and watched tv. i think i went to bed at 10. sorry if i didn't act like my normal self on friday or saturday - i was sooooo tired!
after church today, we went to the lake...it stormed on us for a little while, but then the sun came out. my dad talked to me alot today about the possibility of me buying a house instead of renting an apartment...i am kinda freaking out! the whole time we were hanging out at mary ellen's i was thinking that i would much rather be living in my own house rather than an apartment! it just seems like so much responsibility!
anyways...katie - i am drinking a caramel machiatto from starbucks...did you just "gleat" as mary ellen would say? i thought you would be jealous!
anybody up for going to the laser show at stone mountain on friday night? mary ellen - i could bring my brother - he wants to meet you sometime! :)
p.s. i have definitely become a jack johnson fan!

As Homer Simpson would say.."guhhhhhhhhhhhhh". I'm dying for a nice little Caramel Macchiato action. I begged Ashley to stop at Starbucks this morning, but he just kept on driving. (I don't think he quite realizes that equates to torture.)
I'm so jealous of you being at the lake. I've been priming my downstairs half bath...and now I officially have a celery colored bathroom. The jury is stil out on whether or not I like it- (it used to be red). We'll see.
As for buying a house, sweetie, if you can do it, then do it. I don't think you will regret it one bit. And if you ever need help looking at houses, call me! I love that stuff! Also, google websites like Atlanta Citihomes and such. They will tell you exactly how much places are...take you on virtual tours...etc... How exciting!
Alright, going back to finish the clean up process. It's only 11p after all. Had a blast this weekend! I'm so glad we did this and cannot wait to do it again.
-k.
I'll have to counter Heather, but I guess everyone has their own experience. I wouldn't trade owning my house for anything. I love it. It was already good when I moved in and I love all the little projects that make it better. Plus, at the bottom of it all- it's an investment. I don't think it's that much responsibility (especially if you have your dad nearby- it makes all the difference for me). And my other advise is use a real estate agent you trust. We have a family friend that always helps us, and he was great with me, walking me through the whole process. I want to go house looking with you, I love doing that. I used to give myself tours of homes being built in the neighborhood where I grew up. Unfortunately, I can't make it this Friday night, I've got to write a paper. My fun and travels have put me a little behind with school and I have to catch up in the next week. But we could go when you get back from the DR. I actually watched the Nascar portion of Sports Center, but I'm still convinced they just drive around in circles. I did try though! Ok, make some potato salad.
and...if you're going to buy a house...it's better to do it now before interest rates get higher. i've gotta agree with mary ellen on this one...even though i don't technically own this place (i will be a co-owner in a year). i no longer have to worry about hanging pictures or painting walls. and like mary ellen said...it is an investment.
I'm glad you've become a jack johnson fan. You can hold onto some of the classics, but we need to ween you off of all that country music! Baby steps, think baby steps. Katie will send you some Howie Day soon to help (right Katie?).
