now that's a trip
So I just got back from my run, it was not a good one. The breeze was great, the temperature was perfect, but Lady's running pattern was neither. I had been running only about 7 minutes when on the back side of the running path by the tennis courts Lady cut right in front of me, or rather right under me. I completely tripped, which was made worse because as she did that and my descent began she completely stopped which sent me flying even further. And of course I had been running just long enough to where I had pretty much peaked my speed. So yeah, I landed on the asphalt like I was sliding head first into home plate. Imagine a near sprint down the road that ends with a flying leap onto your stomach. And yes, I am drawing some serious blood. I caught myself with my hands and knees mostly which are bloody and bruised with some great somewhat deep scratches. I forgot to look and see if I left that part of my palm and knee cap on the track. I did have enough presence of mind to quickly look up and see if anyone was around. Luckily not even a car was driving by.. thank goodness. Minimal embarassment even though it was the damn dog's fault. So I hobbled back to my car, decided it was best to cut the run short. No need to have any more nominations for trip of the year, I've got it in the bag. Ass to asphalt.. now that's a trip.
