more fun with paint... . net

I know I'm going a little crazy with this, but it's just so much fun. So here's what I did. I took a depressing picture of a tombstone at Oakland Cemetery and made it creepy. What do you think? Oh...and do you think you'll ever check this thing again?

Since I don't have photoshop, I found a fun alternative...that's free. It's called paint.net.

The first photo is the straight out of the camera shot:

It's not bad. Nice color, nice angles, right?

Well, this is what happens when you soften it, brighten it, and give it a whole lot more punch:

It's a totally different shot.

I'm officially in love. Now if I only had photoshop to really go all out!

And this picture is the reason why. Thanks to thepioneerwoman.com I came across a site called big huge labs and was able to create a mosaic. I think I'm in love! And the best part is that I'm not on Facebook right? That's what I call a win win.

My addiction

While I'm thinking about it, I have to pose this question...and no it's not the question of the day. Why am I addicted to Facebook? I mean really? At first it was fun trying to "reconnect" with old friends, blah blah blah, but now, it has just become kind of an addiction. There's no real value in it now. If I want to talk, communicate with someone, I can just email them or physically write them a letter. After all, everyone on that soul-sucking site posts every minute detail about themselves. It's very easy to track someone down outside of Facebook. Right? Right?? So why do I insist on checking it multiple times a day? I mean honestly, how many people can "friend" me, post a message on my wall, or send me some inane request in the span of 4 hours? The answer is... not many. So why do I spend so much of my life on the god forsaken website?? Why can't I pick up a book instead? Throw the ball with Libby and Justice? Fold laundry? Wash clothes? Spend time with Ashley? Sleep?? The answer is...I'm addicted. Yes, I have my first real addiction. It doesn't make me more intelligent. It most certainly doesn't make me thinner. It doesn't actually make me more social. It does however, suck the life right out of me. So having made all of these facts a little bit clearer to myself, I think it's time to officially back away from the computer and go enjoy the rest of this night with my sweet husband...and of course Justice, Liberty, and Gus.

It's called little peach in the big apple. If you ever get a chance to check it out, do. It's hysterical. Makes me wish I had fun adventures to write about, but alas, I do not. But I'll leave that for another time. :) I guess I could write about the cleaning I'm doing around the house, but let's be honest, that wouldn't even interest Martha Stewart. Nothing new

I sadly don't really have anything new or exciting to post today, I just felt the need to write something.

Here's one for you...I watched the movie "P.S. I Love You" this morning. I resisted the movie for a long time basically due to my ambivalence towards Hilary Swank. I decided against my better judgement to watch it and I must say, it was a really good movie. I haven't cried that much since I watched well, Friday Night Lights last night. But we don't need to discuss that. Anyway, if you haven't seen it, you should. It's worth it alone just to listen to Lisa Kudrow's vulgarity. Pretty funny stuff. Oh and there are some really amazing scenes in Ireland. Since we have $0 to do anything exciting, I'll just have to get my travel kicks from movies. It works for me!

Hope all is well up in Tennessee. Atlanta has seen better days. Just keeping my fingers crossed we see more of them again soon.
