My cousin Carrie

I have to say this is pretty damn funny. And I do love my two first cousins Carrie and Jamie. They are much more like sisters to me. And besides, I've never seen a youtube video that has people I know in it.

I'm a little late to the game on this one, but I just came across this song/video/craziest thing I've ever seen on Perez Hilton. Check it out. Ps, the song is pretty catchy.

Too cute

Click on the linked title and then type in tricks for the dog to do. It's way too fun, and a clear sign that I have too much time on my hands.

James Gregory

So the cousins came in town this weekend and we went and heard this guy. Click on the linked title to hear a sample of his show. He did this part last night. Good thing I watched it because by the time the show actually started well.. we'd all been drinking since lunch. So I remember that I laughed my butt off, but until I saw this, I couldn't remember a thing he said.

Watch the one that says 'Typical American Lunch.' My favorite quote of the night was: "Every American that's ever claimed to have seen a UFO lives in a mobile home."

I'll post pics later.

And then Sunday I went on a canoe trip with some friends, lots of fun. A jammed packed weekend was just what I needed. And I have no complaints about this past one. It was great, absolutely great.

ps- the video that won't work, well I'll figure it out, but it's me and my cousins, post comedy show, pretty sloshed, doing a rap version of John Denver's Annie's Song. I actually said, "yippee yo yippee yay" more than once. It's so bad, but it makes me laugh out loud everytime I listen to it.

Michael Vick - to the dogs

So today was a bad day. It had nothing to do with work and everything to do with the news surrounding Michael Vick and his indictment. I've sent a couple of letters to the NFL and to the Falcons. Feel free to do the same. For your reading enjoyment:

#1 (this is on: https://community.hsus.org/campaign/US_2007_dogfighting_nfl2/forward/uxd7e74ld5jbj3
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell
280 Park Avenue
New York, NY 10017

Dear Commissioner Goodell,
Please immediately suspend Michael Vick from the NFL for his alleged involvement in dogfighting. Vick's recent indictment bya federal grand jury for crimes related to dogfighting is acertain sign that you must treat this matter seriously. Reports of extreme cruelty to dogs who didn't "perform" to the fighters' satisfaction only add to the disgrace Vick brings to the NFL.

Dogfighting is cruel and criminal, and football players must beheld accountable like everyone else. Please suspend Vick IMMEDIATELY--anything less would reflect very badly on your judgment, and on the league. I hope you and your counterparts realize the magnitude of these charges and take the appropriate actions to dismiss Michael Vick from the Atlanta Falcons and the NFL.

To whom it may concern:
As I am sure you have already received an inordinate amount of emails regarding Michael Vick, I still feel compelled to send my thoughts. The fact that you, as an organization, are going to allow this scumbag, animal abuser to continue to play after being indicted is absolutely an abomination. I am appalled that he was not fired immediately. Since Arthur Blank won't do anything to rectify this situation, I hope the Feds send this degenerate to prison for the rest of his life.

I would post a picture of MV, but I don't want to ever see that filthy scumbag's face again. I've got a couple of good ideas for what the feds can do to this dbag and his sicko buddies.

Ok Party Bus Pics

In one of these I look like a character off of Star Wars, in another we're in the top part refueling, and then of course there's a pic of someone's new tattoo ;) It says in modern greek, panda e me ago which translates as 'always, me.' ;)

ps- yes, you see right, there is a pole on the dance floor, actually there were a couple ;)

Good night

So another weekend has passed. It was good and bad and sick. So the cold I thought I had? Nope. A sinus infection. I woke up Saturday and by midday I felt like someone had punched me in the face. Krissie tells me, yep, definitely a sinus infection. I went out on the party bus anyway even though my head was pounding. I've never been on a party bus, but it was an experience. Seriously, the party is on the bus, a double-decker no less. DJ, dancing, drinking, driving around town. It was great, but by the time I got back to the original bar, I was toast. The lack of appetite and illness plus too much beer was too much to bear. I caught a cab home and sacked out. Although I hear that the bar rocked on until about 3 am. Maybe next time. I woke up this morning still pretty early, and went to church. Have I told you I've gone to church every Sunday since I've been here? Visiting here and there, but I think I'm going to start taking confirmation classes at the Episcopal church downtown. I really like it and it's close to my house. After church I went to an urgent care to figure out what to do about this sinus infection. So yeah, they gave me a shot of steroids in the butt, and I'm telling you, she punched that needle in.. and I'm usually good with needles.. but I jumped. And they hooked me up with some antibotics. Within a couple of hours I felt loads better. The kicker? With my 'emergency' insurance until HH kicks in my deductible is $500. My bill today? $219. Might as well be uninsured. Oh well.. first time I have to go to the dr. for a medical reason and I have no real insurance. Murphy's Law right? But yeah, I feel much, much better. Now it's time for bed. I just peeked in my room and Lady is laid out in my spot. What does she think this is.. the Holiday Inn? I'll post party bus pics when I get them. Have a good one.

Transformers...more than meets the eye

As I told you earlier, we went to see Transformers tonight. I wasn't too thrilled at the idea just beacuse I never understand the fascination with the cartoons or the toys as a child....(although I was guilty of playing with them). However, after sitting through 2+ hours of this movie, I'm an official convert. I LOVED THIS MOVIE. Yes, there it is. I loved it. Everything about it actually. The CG animation was absolutely spectacular. Not once did you ever think you were looking at computer animation nor did you get the feeling of a green screen. This flick was action packed from start to finish.

I have to say though, my favorite part was Shia Labeouf. This kid
is fantastic! I'd seen him recently in an adorable little golf movie
called "The Greatest Game Ever Played" (ps. I totally recommend this movie) so I had an idea of how he was as an actor, but yeah, this movie will be it for him. He's gonna be huge. As well he should. But enough of about that, the movie was fantastic and I loved it.

Some Firsts in Nashville

Just a random list here.. but that's what blogs are for right?

For the first time, I have been consistently sitting in my leather chair to watch tv instead of the couch. Why did I never do this before, it's so comfortable?

For the first time, I found my way back home a different way using my intuitive rand mcnally skills. It always feels so good to do this.

For the first time in a long time (like since I was 15) I've started swimming again on a regular basis.

For the first time, seriously this is a pathetic first.. I actually finished a half gallon of milk before it went bad.

For the first time since moving in, I've done everything I want to do to get my house in order. Now all I need to do is have a party!

For the first time since moving I finally got my speakers hooked up to my tv so that I don't have to listen to my cheap tv speakers that have about the same quality as my answering machine.

For the first time in about five years, I'm writing a paper for money.

For the first time in about three years I talked to my friend McQueen in Chicago. Man I miss that girl.

For the first time, tomorrow night I'm going out on a party bus that bar hops for about 4 hours. A friend of a friend's 30th bday, but I think will prove to be lots of fun.

And finally.. for the first time (about a month ago) I.... well that one will have to be told via phone. But no, nothing gross or sexual ;)

But I do hope to have some more firsts to report soon. Have a great weekend.

4th of July

Tonight Ashley and I went to our secret fireworks watching location. Every year the crowd gets bigger, but we still have an absolutely spectacular view of Centennial Olympic Park's fireworks spectacular. We're even lucky enough to be able to see the Decatur fireworks as well...(and a couple of rogue fireworks as well). But sadly, this year's show wasn't that great. Actually, it was really subpar by last year's standards. I was a little bummed to say the least. Decatur's showing however, kicked serious ass. So cheers to you Decatur. Well done! Centennial...you've just been warned.

I'm blue

After being on the market for a total of about 1 week, my favorite house is currently pending.
Alas, I won't get to enjoy rocking on the front porch...nor will I get to enjoy the comfort of an outdoor fire. This is just a sad day for me. I hope that one day I can find another house like this (that I can afford). Oh, to dream.

If you haven't heard of this guy's story, take a look.

Blood Diamonds

Ok, so I've now seen it. Just finished actually. Leo should win some awards as well as Solomon (don't know his real name). I've never bought I diamond, but this movie was Powerful with a capital P. I'll never buy one. Just thought I'd let you know I'd finally seen it. I will have to say, for me, it was the most moving, thought-inspiring, movie I've seen since American History X. Signing out, have a good night.

a couple of things

Hey look at that, two posts within a week! It' s a blog miracle. Okay, so here we go. First, we got new countertops!! Woo-hoo. They look fantastic if I do say so myself. Wanna see:

not bad huh? we like it. ashley painted the kitchen as well so things are looking great!

And yesterday, Ashley bought a new car! Yes, my husband is officially a redneck because this is what he bought:

Yes, my friends this is a Chevy Avalanche! Okay, but what I absolutely hate to admit is that it's really spanking nice on the inside! And now my car looks old and outdated. Boo hoo! I guess it's too soon to start lusting over new cars. Oh well, in due time. : )

And if this weren't enough, my favorite house in the neighborhood is officially on the market and it's pretty expensive and not to mention it's not time for us to buy a house!

Check it -

I'm in love.
