monday, monday

oh no it's already monday. where did the weekend go?? and what a nice weekend it was. i didn't do anything terribly exciting, but i managed to watch 2 movies, work in the yard, and clean the house. all in all it was quite a productive weekend. now i'm blue though because i have another 5 days before i can have my weekend back. i don't mind work. i mean, if i didn't have to go then i wouldn't get to see my friends everyday. there is definitely an upside to working. you know, aside from the money. anyway, i'm just rambling. i really should start getting ready for work especially since i was going to try to get there early today.

Hugs Campaign

Ok my first try and a utube post/link. And I thought this sweet and funny. Everyone needs a hug every now and then. Besides, doesn't this guy look just like John Lennon?

Phillip, the hyper-hypo

This very well may be my most favorite skit ever on SNL.

and now you know...

at this moment

I'm really hating youtube. I've been trying to add the blog to that service so i can upload videos, but for some reason, i think youtube hates me.
-signed, frustrated

Where it all started.

(and by the way, i'm only doing this because blogger sux tonight.)
and because, clearly, I LOVE THE OFFICE.

sorry

blogger is being a real bi-atch right now and won't allow me to delete these mucked up posts. so instead...i give you ramblings "overheard in my office"
(names are witheld to protect the silly)

"Susie, have you ever had jock itch?"
"Would you call a third nipple a triple?"
"Honey, I could set a cocktail on your hips."
"I'm on the God diet. If the Jews couldn't eat Peanut M&M's, then I can go without them too."

Overheard in NY

Don't forget to check the Overheard in NY link - it really is hilarious. Well and I'm procrastinating at the library. I just wanted to share this one story:

Still Better Than the Peritonitis Story He's Not Telling

Barista: What happened to your fist?
Queer: An AC bit it.
Barista: Really?
Queer: Yeah.
Barista: Nice story.
Queer: Well, it's better than my story before.
Barista: Which was?
Queer: I told people it was a fisting accident: he sneezed! People didn't respond too well.

time to add to your cd collection

Not sure if you're aware, but Zach Braff's latest movie, The Last Kiss, opens this weekend. Now I've already read a terrible review, but honestly, I could care less. It stars Zach Braff and by all accounts, it has to be good, right? I digress. What Zach Braff is good at, is coming up with one helluva cd compilation. Garden State was amazing. So go ahead and wrap your mind around yet another movie soundtrack by ZB. Yeap, it's good. Actually, it's better than good. So, if you're bored this weekend and need a cd purchase, well, I have one suggestion...

This post is momentous

This post is momentous because it is me as a South Park figure (how fun was that?) AND I noticed that this is the 300th post of the blog!

Imagine..

I like to call this picture, Katie in the City. The city of South Park, that is. Actually, it's more realistic if you imagine me headed towards Banana Republic at Atlantic Station. Yeap, that's it. Ps. isn't she a dead ringer for me??? Cup of coffee and all! Feel free to visit the link

Political Compass

This link is interesting. I am closest to Ghandi apparently. Guess I need to start fasting. It has interesting analysis too.

an ocean view

I just came across a website titled "sweetfrenchtoast". I just love that title although I'm not entirely sure why. It just sounds very pleasing I guess. The other thing that struck me was the bloggers photos. I do know this girl so I know these are in fact her pictures. She is really a very talented photographer...and pretty much anything she photographs turns out great. Anyway, she had a picture on her site that was exactly like one I took in Bermuda. So, I'm posting it for two reasons: 1. I think it's a funny shot...and 2. I wish I had this view.

Iron Chef..Atlanta??

Just recently, Iron Chef America came to our great city to find a fierce competitor for one of the many Iron Chefs. Well, it was just announced that Chef Linton Hopkins of Restaurant Eugene won the local battle. His competition included chefs Gerry Klaskala of Aria, Annie Quatrano of Bacchanalia, and Kevin Rathbun of Rathbun's. (Yes, the one and only Kevin Rathbun). Well, I'm sure Linton is one great chef, but sadly, that's the only restaurant out of the entire group I have never been to nor heard anything about. Apparently, Restaurant Eugene is Atlanta's best kept secret. Who knew?Taping is in October with probable air time in February. Congratulations to Linton...make us all proud..
**If you're not sure who the picture above is of...that would be Iron Chef himself, Bobby Flay...grillmaster...Boy Meets Grill host...and the hot chick on his arm is his wife, Stephanie March. (But for you TV junkies like me, you may know her best as ADA Alexandra Cabot from Law and Order:SVU.) (Everyone agrees that I totally need a life, right?)

Are you ready to be disgusted...

Shakira may be out of business...that's all I am going to say. The diet starts today.

We Are The Golden Girls

Well kind of.. we figured Heather and Katie both claim shares of Dorothy, I am Sophia (what a cute little smart a--), and Leigh Ann is Rose. But the questions begs, who could be Blanche? Well that honor goes to Sister, aka Jennifer S.

Now all we have to do is age about 40 years and move to Florida. My question is, if I am Sophia, does that mean Katie and Heather are my daughters?

So yes, in many ways our personalities match up, but maybe even more so our friendships match the song. To hear it (for the gazillionth time) go to:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/sounds/thegoldengirls.wav

For the lyrics, see for yourself:

Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back again
Your heart is true your a pal and a confidant.

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you ever knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
Thank you for being a friend.

Leigh Ann, you should see your big gift, from us your friends, very very soon. It was a good day, Chris is progressing at an amazing pace, we all pray it only continues. And the three of us had the chance to really visit, catch up, and relax in the presence of endearing and enduring friendship.
